Hanging Out on Rt. 66 Mountain Valley Properties

Here we are mid-week and just got a moment to catch you up on the great weekend we had here at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. On Saturday August 1 the Snowshoe Foundation had the big giveaway from cash to cars everyone had a good time and alot of people went home with those prizes. Then on Sunday the High Rocks Organization to empower girls in West Virginia with their second annual "Nettle Fest" with silent auctions, nettle soup, t-shirts, nettle tea, music, nettles and greens, well you get it "Nettle Fest". Earlier on Sunday it rained but by afternoon the sun was shining as we listened to bands like Uncle Earl, Larry Keel and of course the Back Mountain Blue Grass Boys a local favorite. This weekend is Blues, Brews and B-B-Q's still time to plan to come to this fun filled weekend. Mention Debbie and Chico' Blog and ask for a 10% discount on lodging. See Ya There! Ok, Ok Chico's turn! Unfortunately I had to hold the fort down both days all I got to do was sniff Debbie's shoes and try and figure out where she had been. This weekend though I will make a little trip to the mountain to enjoy the fun. Taking the Bite Out Of Real Estate!

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Good Morning, This was yesterday relaxing on the back deck at Mountain Valley Properties office. Beautiful day around 75 degrees with a cool breeze, however, today looks like rain. I thought we might go to the Elk River this afternoon and run around look for fish and hang out on the river bank. HOPE IT CLEARS UP! Oh No, tonight is golf night guess I will be hanging out alone at the office. Reminder that this weekend they will have the drawings for the Foundation, hope we win something. Lots of great prizes and there are some tickets left. Will let you know how things go if we don't see you here. Mountain Valley Properties, we are taking the BITE out of Rentals and Real Estate. Chico Have a Great Day!

Upcoming Events in August include 8/1 Treasure on the Mountain Reaffle, 8/7-8/9 Taste of the Mountains Food, Wine and Jazz, 8/14-8/16 Blues Brews and Barbeques, 8/15 Cheat Mountain Challenge, 8/28-8/30 WV Symphony and WV Monarch Butterfly State Fair, 8/28-8/30 Powerade Bike Race. Alot of great events but don't forget about all the Wild and Wonderful in Pocahontas County.
Prior to the golf course "Full Swing" opening I was allowed to go on the golf course with Debbie. Now what I time I had, the Raven Golf Course is the best. Here's how it all came down, while the players were hitting the ball I got to run around, what alot of stuff to smell. We saw deer and birds, probably the best time I've had in a while on a free run. "We don't need no Stinking Leashes"! Anyway, back to the game just 9 holes beautiful day sweater on sweater off, none the less a grreat time! Check in for more thoughts and fun ideas at Snowshoe and Pocahontas County. Thanks Chico

Face to Face

you know how sometimes you feel like someone has read your mind or that you are being spoken to directly, however, you really are not. If know of that makes sense let me explain. While sitting in church yesterday (Church on the Mountain) the preist was speaking about how you can say whatever you like and or critize people if you are not looking at them, and if you were talking "Face to Face" you would probably not say some things. Well that is exactly how i feel about all the Social Networking, there is some good there but also, there are people wanting to be your friend that would not be your friend "Face to Face". People that are not necessairly telling the whole truth about Who/What/When/Where/Why and posting all over the internet. With this in mind please know that at Mountain Valley Properties we really like "Face to Face" - "One on One" service, so stop in and see us when you are in town and will have our "Chat" on the porch. Have a Great Day! Debbie
Watch out for the dog though!!

Hi to all, a little while ago I decided to drive to Snowshoe Central Village and get me a Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Grande Latte. Wow thats a mouth full and girly i guess. Anyway on my way back to the office I passed all these mountain bikers waiting for a ride back up to do all over again. As I passed in my Suburban sipping my latte it made me laugh, so I turned around and took a couple of pictures to share. I have heard Snowshoe Mountain - Mountain Biking called the Moab of the East, don't really get it but not real coordinated so not much fun for me. Anyway, see what you think!! Debbie

I was initially so excited about blogging but there is always something to learn and it takes me a while to catch on. Anyway, hope that is the end of my blogging problems. It is a beautiful day today and hope to go out shortly and take Chico for a walk. We have a nice walk into Fassifern Fields its about a mile 1/2 up and 1/2 down. Wait, here is a pic of one of the buffalo's out back with her baby, baby is lot bigger now. will check back

Saturday, February 21, 2009

Hey, I just had a thought! We are coming to a time when we can ski in the morning and hang out on the river in the afternoon. Maybe a little fly fishing.
You know a river runs through it, Pocahontas County is the birth place of eight rivers. Can anyone name them?
At 5:45 this morning the temp was 6.8 and now at 9am already up to 13 degrees. Sky is blue it should be a great day on the slopes as the day warms a little more. All slopes and lifts are open and Ski Patrol just dropped the rope. So have a great day and check back in tonight. Staci will be in the office until 4 today so feel free to check in with her if you have any questions. Oh, by the way, what a great log cabin, doesn't it look inviting.
